Important Information about Ada and Ina Natural Curtain Fabrics

Fabric Samples

We have tried hard to represent our fabrics as accurately as possible on the website using state of the art photography and digital imaging. However, colours will vary between computer screens and this is out of our control. Due to the limitations of colour printing, image colours may vary from actual fabric colours, with certain colours (such as reds) being particularly difficult to reproduce. Use the images on this online shop only as a guide, please do not use them to colour match fabric. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you request a recent sample of the fabric prior to ordering unless slight differences in appearance are not important to your decision to order. Samples are a close representation of the fabric you choose but not as an exact match as there are often slight variations in colour between manufacturing batches. Ada & Ina cannot accept responsibility for any colour and shade variations and will not accept returns on this basis. 

Washing Ada and Ina Natural fabrics, Blinds and Made to Measure Curtains

Prewashing new fabrics generally ensures that there will be no uneven shrinkage and no transfer of colours when the finished piece is washed. These guidelines apply to most of our fabrics, but we would always advise testing a small piece first as manufacturing processes do vary. If you want to avoid shrinkage we advise you to use dry cleaning for all our fabrics. We do not recommend washing curtains and blinds in the water - ONLY dry cleaning is suitable for the curtains and the blinds.

We ship all parcels by tracked courier services (mainly DPD and TNT) unless agreed on delivery with Royal Mail (to UK). 
We offer following payment methods: Debit Cards, Visa, Mastercard and Discover services.
We also accept BACS and Amex payments for manually created invoices - kindly contact us for details.

VAT Changes from 1st of January 2021 to EU countries

Since 1st January 2021 on our website the prices to EU countries outside United Kingdom have automatically been VAT 0%. Since this date all orders sent from our warehouse in United Kingdom to EU, are treated as exports and all EU countries will require the local VAT (in Finland “ALV”, in Sweden “Moms”, in Germany “MwSt”) to be paid once the shipment is on the way to the delivery country, before the parcel will be delivered to you.

This will ensure that you will only pay the VAT once. By placing an order with us, you agree to pay the local VAT. The courier companies DPD, TNT and Postnord that we use for deliveries will make this as simple as possible. DPD sends an email and / or text message to the recipient about the charges to be paid once the parcel is on the way.

We are applying for Preferential treatment for the parcels based on the Country of Origin being either UK or EU. Therefore there should be no extra charges except paying the local VAT. However we cannot affect the outcome of the Customs decision. The Customs may for some reason, based on the feedback we have received, apply Duty to be paid as well, even though this should not happen. Additionally there may be a handling fee of approximately 6 Euros added to the invoice. Sadly we are not able to change the Customs decision.

Please note: A few customers using Gmail email, have commented, that the email sent from DPD does not show the payment link, but instead lots of seemingly random characters. The workaround that has worked for these customers is, if you scroll down all the way to the bottom of the email (it is very long), there should be a link saying “Show entire message” or similar text and if you click that, it should show the email properly.

Delivery time


Stock items are normally dispatched by return, but please allow 2 - 14 working days for receipt unless a specific date has been given by prior agreement.  In such a rare case that the fabric is out of stock delivery time can be up to 9 weeks. For mainland UK we offer DPD Next working day delivery as standard. The ''Next working day service is only offered by couriers as a non-guaranteed service although the success rate is approx 98%, therefore compensation is not available if ''Next working day'' delivery is not met. The estimated quantities of fabric or other items that we have in stock, displayed on the website, may not be accurate, although we update the fabric stock levels automatically upon receiving new orders and additionally use manual stock checks to keep the stock levels as close to actual metres in stock as possible. You may contact us at any time to check that we have the needed quantity in stock, before placing your order.

All of our fabrics will be sent folded unless you are ordering large quantities which may come supplied on a roll. If you wish to have your fabric delivered on a roll, please contact us prior to placing your order.

Made to Measure Curtains and Blinds

Delivery time is typically 10-15 work days + shipping, unless a specific date has been given by prior agreement. All the dates are estimations shall be in no form binding upon Ada & Ina ltd. However during the busiest period of the year (e.g. before Christmas) our lead time may be longer. Please have a look at our current lead time estimate. Because this is an estimate it cannot be guaranteed.

Reshipping products

Unfortunately in some cases the shipment cannot be delivered to the address you have specified. Couriers do try to contact you and/or to redeliver the shipment even if you are not home but in some rare cases even after multiple tries they cannot deliver. The shipping needs to be signed for by someone at the shipping address.

Kindly note that the items cannot be left at the shipping address without someone signing for the shipment. Please specify such a shipping address at where someone is available to sign for the shipment. Some couriers also offer the possibility to pick up the shipment from their warehouse for a limited period of time. If none of these shipping methods are successful, the items will be returned to Ada & Ina's warehouse.

If you receive a note from the courier that they were not able to reach you, please contact the courier company immediately to arrange redelivery. If you have any problems with your delivery, kindly contact us at [email protected] 

In the unlikely case that the ordered items are returned to our warehouse, the cost of reshipping any items is the responsibility of the customer.

Ownership of the Fabrics, Made to Measure Curtains and Blinds

You will own the items we supply you from the moment they are put in the hands of the courier or postal service, or with our carriers, or on payment in full of the price of the fabrics, made to measure blinds or curtains and any delivery charge, whichever is later.

Collection of the goods from your address

If we arrange a collection of fabrics, made to measure curtains or blinds from you, you are required to package the goods adequately (ideally in the original protective wrapping and box or in the best alternative you can arrange) for transport by courier. We will not be responsible for any damage as a result of poor packaging.


We reserve the right to change prices and specifications without notice. All prices are shown in Pounds Sterling.
Ada and Ina Fabrics reserves the right to notify you if postage to your chosen destination is significantly higher than the postage rate indicated due to the destination or the bulk and/or weight of the items being shipped. If this is the case we will email you with information about the amended rate and will only proceed with the order when you confirm that the amended amount is acceptable.

Payment Terms

Because most of our goods are made to measure products they cannot be resold. This includes fabrics, made to measure curtains and blinds. We can only process orders for which we have received full payment at the time of placing the order. This can be done using a debit or credit card on the website or over the phone by providing us with the relevant details. 

Disclaimer: fabrics or any products made of our natural fabrics

Any irregularities and variations in the weave of our fabrics are in NO way to be considered as defects. They are characteristic of natural fibre. Please note that also certain fabrics which have been pre-washed or softened might have some elasticity which will affect to the way how the fabric sets.  Pre-washed fabrics may also have minor variations in colour due to the washing process and these are not to be considered as defects. The natural or dyed shade of fabric may vary from roll to roll and is a circumstance beyond our control.  Please examine the fabrics carefully BEFORE processing. Direct or indirect claims for any reason whatsoever will not be accepted once the customer, or any party acting upon their instructions, has cut or processed the fabric in any way. Claims for any defects or shortages must be made in writing within seven days of delivery of the fabric – please send us a photo of the fault also. In no event shall Ada & Ina Ltd. be responsible for damage caused by general wear and tear, neglect or abuse of your product, loss or damage (including rusting and corrosion) due to unreasonable exposure to water or weather; loss or damage due to fire, sunlight or infestation by animals or insects, theft or accidental damage or loss caused by a third party.

Cancelling Orders - Made to Measure Products

All our made to measure and bespoke items are made to your chosen design and specific measurements and they cannot be resold. Therefore it is important that you are sure of your order details before you place an Order with us. Please note that bespoke and made to measure items such as curtains and blinds may not be returned or exchanged. In the unlikely event that they are faulty or incorrect, please contact us within 30 days from receiving the items. Where your order is incorrect or faulty we will always correct the issue as a matter of priority to make sure you will be happy with your curtains or blinds. If we agree to get the items returned to us for inspection and possibly for repairing them, the goods must be returned to us as soon as possible. If your order is shipped back to us for our inspection and no faults can be found of your order we will charge for the shipping for the return and collection from your address – in total 25 GBP. You are required to package the goods adequately (ideally in the original protective wrapping and box or in the best alternative you can arrange) for transport by courier. We will not be responsible for any damage as a result of poor packaging. Our returns policy complies with the Consumer Protection (distance selling) regulation. We will process a refund if your order cannot be completed.

If you are unhappy with your order because you have changed your mind, or don’t like the fabric or style you have chosen, we are unable to offer you a refund. However we may be able to organise for your order to be remade in a different fabric or style for a discounted price. Please contact us for details.

Cancelling Orders and Refunds - Fabrics

Please contact us within 14 days from receiving the items. For fabric orders of 10 metres or more we accept product returns, but we impose a restocking fee, which is 25% of the fabric's value. This fee will be deducted from the refund given to you. The shipping costs will not be refunded. This handling charge covers the fact that your length of fabric has been cut specifically for you, and another future customer is unlikely to require the same length, which means we will make a partial loss on the returned goods. Items must be returned in the original condition and in their original packaging. For sale fabrics and fabrics are which are going to be discontinued we do not accept returns. Please note that you must contact us and receive our return authorization before returning. The cost of returning any items is the responsibility of the customer.

Cancelling Orders and Refunds - Ready Made Products

If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, a request for a product return can only be made within 30 days of delivery. Please note that you must contact us and receive our return authorization before returning any items. We will provide a full refund for the purchase price of the goods, but not any delivery charges. We do not refund the original postage charge and ship the product free of charge to our address, but if you just want us to exchange the item then you don’t pay any postage for the replacement.The cost of returning any items is the responsibility of the customer. You are required to package the goods adequately or transport by courier. We will not be responsible for any damage as a result of poor packaging. We recommend that you will use courier service for product returns/exchanges which you can buy for example here: www.parcel2go.com.

Items must be returned in their original packaging.No exchange or refund once the original packaging has been opened or damaged unless faulty. Please note if we have done some changes to the ready made products - e.g. altered the measurements for you - in these cases the items are no longer resalable and we do not accept returns for them. Please note that with the exception of faulty merchandise, for hygiene and safety reasons we cannot accept the return of certain items which have been opened e.g. bed linen. Please note that a refund will only take place after the goods have been returned, inspected by our returns department and deemed to be in original resalable condition. For countries outside UK delivery charge is subsidised - this charge may be higher than the original delivery charge as the initial delivery cost is subsidised by Ada & Ina Ltd.


Damaged, defective or incorrect items

If in the unlikely case that the fabric(s), made to measure curtains or blinds you have ordered are faulty, then a claim can only be made within 30 days after the order has been delivered. Please note that you must contact us and receive our return authorization before returning. Kindly ensure you have a receipt for your return postage/shipping charges as Ada and Ina Fabrics will not be responsible for items lost in the post during return. Please contact Ada & Ina before sending the goods back. Please note that fabric samples are a close representation of the fabric you choose but not as an exact match as there are often slight variations in colour between manufacturing batches. Ada & Ina cannot accept responsibility for any colour and shade variations and will not accept returns on this basis. Roman blinds are made with rods sewn at the back of the fabric panel to create the folds. The stitching lets some light through, most visible with blackout lining, but as this cannot be avoided, this cannot be considered a fault.

Due to variations in atmospheric conditions (temperature, humidity etc.), there may be a possibility of shrinkage or relaxation of curtains or blinds. It is important that the temperature and humidity of the surrounding environment should be controlled in order to prevent this. As such conditions are beyond our control, we are unable to accept any responsibility for the movement of curtains or blinds after delivery. However, we do ensure that adequate hems will have been allowed during the making of your curtains to allow alterations, should this be required. The cost of these alterations remains the responsibility of the customer.


Made to measure and bespoke curtains and blinds are manufactured in accordance with the measurements provided by you. Please follow the instructions on how to measure curtains and blinds which are available on our website. If you are unsure, you can call us for advice and clarification. We cannot accept returns for made to measure curtains and blinds incorrectly measured by you, although we are happy to quote a price for any alterations that might be needed. We reserve the right to adjust the width of curtains +/-5% of the width, to avoid very narrow pieces of fabric on the sides of the curtains, if the width would be just slightly over a full fabric width. This does not apply for Rod pocket curtains, Flat panel curtains or Roman blinds for example. This is simply to make sure the curtains will look professionally made.

Credit Card Security

All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128 bit encryption. We do not store any credit card details in our store's database. When an order is placed we will ask for the last three digits on the signature strip on the reverse of the card (CVV). This is a security check to help prevent credit card misuse.

Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping basket; once you have selected an item, to store delivery addresses (if the address book is used) and to store your details if you select the 'Remember Me' option. Data collected by this site is used to:

Ada and Ina shall not be responsible for any breach of these Terms and Conditions caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and any disputes will be decided only by the English courts. If any of the terms of these Terms and Conditions is held by any court of competent authority to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, in whole or in part, this will not affect the validity of the remaining terms which will continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.

We reserve the right to cancel your order, in which case we will issue a credit back to your card account. We shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from the cancellation.


In the event that a product is listed at an incorrect price due to an administrative or other reason, we reserve the right to refuse your order whether or not the order has been charged to your credit or debit card. In this instance, we will issue a credit back to your card account.
