A beautiful 50's home styled by Ada & Ina. The fabrics used are from

In the city of Turku on the coast of Finland you will find this pretty wooden house built in the 50's.
Soile and her partner Sami redecorated it, but loved its story and small traces from the history
it holds so they preserved details from the past. These traces, such as the original windows, add to the
slightly mystical aura about this light, picturesque home.
The living room is illuminated by light colours, completed with a yellow chair from a local flee market.
The roman blinds are made from the linen fabric Warsa Ivory completed with a blackout lining to keep the
room cool during hot summer days. The cushions are from upholstery fabrics Dimante Grey. The natural
linen throws are softened after much use and made from the chemical-free Oeko-Tex certified fabrics Warsa
Natural and Klara.

For an illuminating entrance the closet has been painted a light grey and the walls white.
The curtain is the sheer linen fabric Lotta White, which creates a light and airy effect in the room. While the glass bottles are a collection made
by a previous owner, the old chair is bought from a local flea market

The hallway is decorated with natural white tiles and lovely, home made
pictures on the wall be framing cutlery and an old pocket watch. The leather
handbag is yet another flea market bargain, the linen slippers from Hau Hauz.
A cool way to create artwork is by framing old cutlery, jewelly or
why not an old pocket watch!
This spot is found in the study. The elegant table and chairs from Ikea give
the room a modern touch.
What I love the most about my home is its history and charming imperfections
This desk holds an assortment of antiques and second hand bargains combined with
the tech equipment of today.
The sneak peek from the study into the kitchen.
An old kitchen cabinet for storing crockery. The curtains are made by Ada & Ina.
The kitchen is kept simple and modern. The kitchen towel is a Kalevala linen fabric from Hau Hauz, the rug from Ikea.
The kitchen table. The roman blinds are made from the fabric Warsa Natural completed
with a cotton lining. On the kitchen table are Marimekko's teapot and mugs.
My favorite thing to do at home is to drink tea and enjoy newly picked cherries from our garden
This staircase is painted white and grey. It's kept clear and minimalistic with a
hand made wall hanging.
The bedroom is decorated with linen upholstery fabrics and curtains.
The cushions are made from Hau Hauz's Kalevala fabric. The curtains
are made from the fabric Astrid White with a blackout lining. On the bedside
table is one of Soile's paintings and an old Kodak Brownie camera.
This was remade into a book shelf after the doors were removed and a touch of polish.
The dark green boxes are old first aid kits used in the Finnish army during the Second World War.
The framed insects were bought on a trip to Thailand. The old harness was found
in the attic. Tip! These can often be found in flea markets or yard sales.
Hand Made Crochet Throw. The Roman Blind is made by Ada & Ina.

Welcome to our home!
The many coloured glass bottles in the entrance hall are heirlooms from previous inhabitants.
This old wooden and metal sled is a fun detail in the garden. It's also
a reminder of the long, snowy Finnish winters!
The garden. In the background are apple and cherry trees.
